JH
JH was struggling to fit into his community. Neighbours next door were a noisy family, lots of laughter, shouting, door slamming and radio. It was completely overloading JH and he wasn’t able to cope; he had panic attacks and meltdowns. This was frightening for the neighbour’s young children. Dash’s autism advisors talked the problem through with JH, and helped explain autism to the neighbour. Once they understood the problem, everyone was able to do their part to reduce the stalemate. There was less noise, more understanding, fewer meltdowns, less scariness for the children. Best of all, there was no need to move house which would have been a horrendous upheaval.
